Financial Aid
Onyahsa Scholarship
Through the generosity of our local supporters, a limited number of full and partial camp scholarships are available to qualified applicants from Chautauqua County. Please fill out the scholarship application below and return to the Camp office. Fully completed applications can be mailed to YMCA Camp Onyahsa, 101 East Fourth St. Jamestown, NY 14701, faxed to 716-487-1174 or emailed.
The Onyahsa Promise Scholarship (Tiered pricing)
Thanks to local benefactors, resident camp tuition is reduced by $130 per weekly session for local residents, defined as “full-time residents who are enrolled students in Chautauqua County. Those residing in Cattaraugus, Allegany, Warren or McKean counties see a reduction of $65.” This scholarship is made through the generosity of local contributors, who stipulate that these funds be used to assist youth who live within this region. It is not intended to discriminate against non-local youth. In fact, Camp Onyahsa strongly encourages and welcomes attendance by “out-of-region” and international campers!
Spiro G. Bello Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Spiro G. Bello Camp Scholarship Fund for needy and deserving youth who display leadership abilities has been created by Camp alumni to honor the late Onyahsa Director. Spiro attended Onyahsa as a child, and later directed the Camp from 1962 –1984. He mentored countless young people, including some of the current Onyahsa staff, alumni, and board members. If you would like to apply for a Bello Leadership Scholarship, make a contribution to this perpetual fund, or if you would like to receive alumni information, please contact the Camp Director.
