YMCA Camp Onyahsa

Summer Youth Specialty Camps

Sailing Camp

Sailing Camp

Traditional campers, ages 7 – 13, enjoy exciting daily activities such as swimming, boating, sailing, arts, sports, adventure, "Choice," hikes, campfires, and much more. This offering is our best value, and Traditional Camp is the heart of our program. Members of our Camp Community attend from our locality and around the world.

Each week will also offer a fun theme for all, and an optional Horseback Riding program or Sailing program (for any youth) or Teen Camp (for 14- year-old campers). Two-week Leadership Training (LIT) sessions are available to graduates of the teen camper program who are 15-16 years old. Campers may choose to attend from one to eight sessions, and weekend stay-over programs are available.

Camp for Youth with Diabetes

Thanks to Univera Healthcare, Onyahsa will offer a program for youth who have Diabetes. This full-week session early in the summer will provide enhanced healthcare, Diabetes Education, and assistance with dietary guidelines; in addition to all our favorite camp activities. The program will run concurrently with our traditional offerings, so siblings and friends who do not have diabetes can attend at the same time. “Graduates” of this session may return later in the summer for a full week of Camp and/or our School-year Monthly Camps.

Horseback Riding

Camper ages 7-13 who register for this elective will spend 1 ½ hours each weekday at Starr Point Farms, a local riding stable; learning the basics of western riding, horse care, and equestrian ethics. The program is coached by Connie Dolecki, who has 15 years’ experience and who is currently completing her PhD in Psychology. She has worked on teams developing therapeutic riding programs and on programs for children with behavior issues. Campers are transported to the stable in Camp-leased vehicles by Onyahsa staff. The program is open to riders of any level. Cost $100/week plus Onyahsa tuition. Program may be cancelled if insufficient enrollment. Offered weeks B-G.
