Kurt Gustafson and Dr. Robert Berke, co-directors of the BigFish Triathlon, are pictured presenting Jon O’Brien, Camp Onyahsa director, with a check.

Over the last five years, the race has raised more than $55,000 for the Y Camp’s special projects.

The BigFish 2018 Olympic and Sprint distance races are scheduled for June 16 at a new venue, Mayville Lakeside Park. All proceeds of the USA Track-sanctioned races will support the camp’s projects, such as the week for Type 1 Diabetic campers, now entering its third year.

The swim start will be from Mayville beach and hopes to feature the Chautuaqua Belle as a visual siting point for swimmers. The bike route will be as last year and the run segment will use the newly paved, flat, rail trail that extends from the Mayville Lakeside Park to Route 430.
