YMCA Honors Swansons With Lifetime Service Award

Jun 26, 2015 | Posted in News

Presented by Michael Lyons, YMCA trustee chairman, the award was presented to the Swansons for their years of exceptional service, dedication and commitment to the Jamestown Area YMCAs.

"The Paul B. Sullivan award recognizes those who really spent a good number of years working with the YMCA. Tonight, it's a special award because usually it goes to an individual, but there are two people who are deserving of this award," Lyons said. "This couple has been involved with the YMCA since I've known them. It's appropriate that we are focused on camp tonight because a good part of their service is with Camp Onyahsa," Lyons continued. "Jim volunteers his time whenever necessary maintaining the camp. He has done this for 25 years. His wife has also worked for years, and still does, on behalf of the camp."
